Dynamo Quick Reference Guide

Basics:

• Power button is in the top right hand corner.
• There are three ways to shut down the device.

1.  Press the Power button. The message “Are you sure you want to shut down?” will appear. Select Yes.

2.  Go to Control Panel. Press the Setup button. Select Shut Down from the menu. The
     message “Are you sure you want to shut down?” will appear. Select Yes.

3.  Press a Shut Down button that has been placed on a communication page. The message
“Are you sure you want to shut down?” will appear. Select Yes.

• Battery charging occurs when the unit is plugged in. Shut down the device to charge.
• ALWAYS plug the dynamo power cord into the outlet first and then into the Dynamo. When the amber LED light goes out, the charging is complete. The battery indicator in the Control Panel provides a constant reading of the battery’s energy level.
• All custom pages and recordings that have been saved on the Dynamo should be saved to a computer on a regular basis. This can be completed by following the directions provided in the Dynamo User Guide.

Adjusting the viewing angle of the display:

     1.  Go to Control Panel and select Setup.

     2.  Press Screen Controls.

     3.  Press Up or Down to set the viewing angle slider.

     4.  Press OK on the Screen Controls and on the setup screen.

Adjusting the volume:

     1.  Go to Control Panel and select Setup.

     2.  Press Speaker Controls.

     3.  Press Louder or Softer to set volume slider.

     4.  Press OK on the volume adjust screen and on the setup screen.

Making a new page:

    2.  Press Make New Page.

    3.  Press the More and Fewer buttons to set the Rows slider.

    4.  Press the More and Fewer buttons to set the Column slider.

    5.  Press the Font Size option ring until the desired setting is displayed.

    6.  Press the Add Message Window? option ring until the desired setting is displayed.

    7.  Press OK.

    8.  Type in the name of this new page.

    9.  Press OK to close the keyboard window. The new page is displayed on the screen.

Editing an existing page

    2.  Press Page Browser.

    3.  Using the scroll and search option, highlight the name of the page you want to edit.

    4.  Press Edit Current Page.

    5.  Press the More and Fewer buttons to set the Rows slider.

    6.  Press the More and Fewer buttons to set the Column slider.

    7.  Press the Font Size option ring until the desired setting is displayed.

    8.  Press the Add Message Window? option ring until the desired setting is displayed.

    9.  Press OK.

    10. Type in the name of this new page.

    11. Press OK to close the keyboard window. The new page is displayed on the screen.

Recording a message into a button

    2.  Press the button you want to record a message in.

    3.  When you release the button, recording will begin. Speak your message clearly into the 
         microphone.

    4.  Press the button again to stop the recording.

Modifying a Button

    2.  Press the button you want to modify.

    3.  Modify the Symbol, Label, Page Link, and other features of the button.

    4.  Press OK when you are finished modifying.
